Guess Who Help and Rules

How To Play:

  1. Refer to the "Gameplay" section of the official Guess Who rules.
  2. Find a friend. You will need a way to talk to your friend.
  3. Press the menu button and click "Draw a Boy" below the card to draw from the deck of boys. Don't tell your friend who you picked!
  4. Choose who goes first by either flipping a coin or using your choice of Technology™ to flip a digital coin.
  5. Take turns asking questions and eliminating boys.
  6. Repeat until one of you is ready to make a guess as to who the other person's boy is. If you guess correctly, you win!

How to Use the Website:

  • The Sort button will move all cards that have been eliminated over to the bottom right of the gameboard, making it easier to see who remains.
  • The number in the top center of the screen is the number of remaining boys.
  • In the Game Menu you can do several things:
    • Reset the gameboard after playing a game.
    • Choose the deck you would like to use from a dropdown menu.
      • Choosing "Custom" from the dropdown will allow you to generate a randomized deck, using a word or phrase as a "seed" value. Give this word or phrase to your friend and you can play using the same deck!
    • Choose the game mode you would like to play from a dropdown menu.
    • Pop-out your hand to see your boy in a separate window. This is most useful for other game modes when you have multiple boys.

Instructions for other game modes:

  • In Guess Two, the object of the game is to guess both boys at the same time.
    • Each turn, the player can ask a question like: "Do either of your boys have red?"
    • If the opponent answers "Both", all non-red boys can be eliminated.
    • If the opponent answers "Neither", all red boys can be eliminated.
    • However, if the opponent answers "One of my boys has red and the other does not", the player must remember or write down that information and use it to eliminate boys based on other questions they ask.
  • Other game modes are identical to this, but with a varying number of boys in your hand.

Definitions:

Humanoid – Having both arms and legs.

Banned Questions:

Is your boy primarily <color>?
Reason: "Primarily" is too subjective.
